Three crosses and the words, "He is risen."

Resurrection Sunday and Rumors Surrounding It

We will never forget what happened one Resurrection Sunday and the rumors surrounding it.

One Resurrection Sunday morning at our church several years ago, another ministry that had been formed by some folks who were once part of ours had put out the word that we were closing our doors, and that, that Resurrection Sunday service would be our last!

A couple of the folks who had heard this rumor arrived early that morning and said to me, “We heard this was your last service, so we decided to join you today.”

Well, it so happens that years later, we are still here, preaching the life-giving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! (Oh, and by the way, the ones who started that false rumor? They are no longer meeting together.)

The same thing happened to Jesus Himself. The rumor going around was that He was condemned to die, and once crucified, there wouldn’t be a Resurrection Sunday to celebrate the following year!

“Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will arise.’” Matthew 27:63

Well, it so happens that 2,000 years later… HALLELUJAH!

He’s still alive and so are we!

Come celebrate the power of His resurrection in our church this Resurrection Sunday morning!

Worship Service at 11:00 AM. Come join us!
